SMC offers Associate in Arts, Associate in Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees as well as certificates and specialty certificates.

The Associate in Applied Science is an occupational degree designed to get you a two-year degree and then begin working.

The Associate in Arts and Associate in Science are transfer degrees that allow you to complete all your general education requirements before transferring to another school to earn a bachelor’s degree. They often count as the first two years of a bachelor’s degree.

SMC has unique partnerships with Ferris State University and Bethel College that allow a student to earn a bachelor’s degree on our Dowagiac campus. SMC credits transfer easily into either program and in the Ferris program students pay SMC’s low tuition for three years worth of classes and only pay one year of Ferris’ tuition.
